Most of my digital paintings are very clearly digital.
Strong colours, sharp lines and clear distinctions between layers.
For this piece, I wanted to catch just a sniff of paint tubes.
See if I was able to make something with a bit more contexture, if that makes sense.
It was a fun experiment, and I think I can feel just a small whiff of paint while looking at it:
As you may have noticed through some of my other paintings, I have a crush on boats and ships.
Especially those old sailing ships.
I’ve never felt that I’ve mastered depicting them.
But I think this is the closest I’ve been so far.
Drawing them from a distance makes it easier.
But it took some of the pressure off, regarding the detail work.
So I hope you like it.
