Focusing Real Hard On That Loose Style

I was quite happy with my last attempt at some birch trees, adding a little wash to the finished ink drawing.

It was done in such a loose style, like I’ve always tried to manage.

This time, though, it ended up much less satisfactory.

The drawing itself is not that bad.

But the wash is.

Especially the tree in the middle ended up much too dark and muddy.

There are also a couple of bad clutters of paint on there.

The main problem: I got too concerned with details, and tried to repair them.

And that never works out well…

So, in other words, I failed to stay loose, again.

BUT, I’ll keep working to get better.

And, in the meantime, I hope you are doing alright!
