This is the result of a digital painting I started on, having no clue about what I wanted to paint.
It started, like it often has recently, by painting some waves and a ship.
But it just didn’t feel right.
And it didn’t look right either.
So I went in another direction.
The mast of the ship ended up as a utility pole.
And then there was a person standing there.
And then he tried to catch some birds, as I can only assume is the hope of getting a last meal.
I mean, how is he ever going to get away from there?
Having no plan has left me with a pile of bad paintings.
This one, though, is one that I think turned into something fun.
I could never have planned this scene in my head.
It just built itself up, by going with the flow.
The mind starts wandering.
Not thinking at all about what’s going on down at the screen.
And suddenly you’re there.
With something that doesn’t even feel like you’ve made yourself.
Like someone else borrowed your brain for a while.
I think it’s a blast.
And if you want to see how I got there, you can do so here:

I hope you’re having a great day!
It`s so funny and playful. Love it!
Thank you so much! I really let my mind run free with this one 🙂
Wonderful..I love it. I never plan my paintings or poems either.💙
Thank you, Mairi! It certainly makes the process more interesting 🙂
Love it Kim
Thanks, Elaine!😀
It’s very special! 👏♥️👏 How wonderful that you enjoyed this unplanned experience so much! Tbh, I never have one for art. LOL it probably shows! But I adore the unknown – the experimentation. And you said it so well: It’s like someone else borrowed your brain for a while. 🙃
Thank you! I never end up painting the pictures I have in my mind when starting out. It always turns into something else. It’s both a strength and a weakness, I guess. But that’s how it is 🙂
