I’ve had a real hang-up about ink painting lately, which has been a lot of fun.
A lot of them didn’t go as planned, though, and had to move straight to the bin.
But some of them ended up looking rather cool.
And here are a few of them:
There are a lot of similarities between painting with ink and painting with watercolour.
The most difficult one is the unforeseen ways the water can move.
Adding ink, which is even more permanent than watercolour, makes mistakes a lot less fixable.
On the flipside, though, that just forces you to go with the flow.
And that, I find, makes the paintings more dynamic, more interesting and a lot more nerve-racking.
A wonderful combination.
I’ll have a little break from ink now, moving over to other mediums for a while.
But I won’t be able to keep away for too long, I imagine.
Very nice. These would make lovely greeting cards.
Thank you, Laura! I think so too 🙂 I’m just way to bad sending out cards, so they’re piling up… 😀
