Too Vague – But Something Interesting

I like the base work of this painting.

But I am really struggling taking it further.

I have tried several strategies.

Both making the boat darker, to pull it closer.

And strengthening the foreground, giving it more vibrant colors and more details.

But it just doesn’t look right.

So I’ve decided that this is one of those paintings that just won’t come together.

It’ll stay a ghost ship.

Never taking on any more passengers.

Anyway, I hope you like it, and that you’re having a good day!

  1. Nice, I don’t know how you draw on a computer or actually on canvas sheets, but the ship is beautiful, darker as it seems at night, I think this wave of water if a little lower making ship more visible can look great ! Waves are mix of convex and concave structures.. And the extra water can be cropped from the painting as you like to focus the main thing that is ship. I am not a painter though, just from my experience in photography, I think it should look good. I once clicked a ship in sea on a sunset, it was too good a photograph. Your painting reminds me of the same.

    1. Thank you for those very nice inputs 🙂 I think you are right. The boat is hidden away in the top of the painting, so it may look a lot better by cropping some of the water away. I think you have great knowledge about this, with your experience from photography.

That ship you mentioned looks beautiful, by the way. I want to paint it now 😀

I would love it if you left me a few words
