I’ve been painting a lot of mountains and landscapes with my ink paintings.
So I felt it was time to head over to the ocean.
I wanted to make some waves.
Some rocks.
And some movement.
I was a bit unsure about how I wanted to get there.
So I just started adding a wash, and then some determined brush strokes to make out waves.
That went okay, but nothing more.
So I needed to emphasize the waves in some way.
The solution became using a pro marker and some felt pens to define their areas.
I also made the rocks all black, so they would stand out a bit.
I then did a few patterns in the transitional lines, to kind of spice it up.
It ended up looking okay.
But a bit boring.
Something is missing.
But I decided to leave it with that.
So, do you have any suggestions to make it more interesting?
If so, I would love to hear them 🙂
I hope you are doing alright, and that you’re having a good day!
It reminds me of the geological pictures of strata my dad has (he’s a geophysicist who worked in the oil industry), I think it’s just missing something to give it perspective.
Well, I’ve never heard that about a painting before, so that’s cool 😀 Yes, there is something missing. I just couldn’t figure it out. But I think I’ll rename it Strata now 😉
