There is something very vulnerable about the thought of not being able to do what you love anymore.
For some, retirement seems like a liberation.
For others, a degradation.
For a fisherman, his work seems like such a massive part of his personality.
Someone who is proud, strong and weather-beaten, and always hard at work.
A unity that brings everyone on the boat close together, even though you might not like everyone on land.
That made me think about how it would feel to be a retired fisherman.
I’m sure a lot of them are happy to retire.
But what about the longing for the sea, and the whole lifestyle aboard the fishing boat?
It made me paint this digital panting.
I hope it speaks out some of these thoughts, and a lust to reflect on them.
And, of course, I hope you are having a great day!
This caught my eye because it reminds me of my favorite painting – Dance Me To The End of Love. Your painting gives me the same feeling of wistful thoughts of my life as a whole compiled in the emotions of the painting. Beautiful!
Thank you so much! I’m so happy when a painting speaks out to someone, and that’s quite a compliment to get. Thank you so much for letting me know!😊
