By pure mistake, I ended up painting this one on the wrong side of my watercolour paper.
That’s the reason why it looks so grainy.
But looking back at it, it actually turned out as a pretty cool effect.
Almost like it’s painted on concrete or something.
So I just might use the same paper again.
But this time on purpose.
Anyway, I hope you are doing alright, and that you’re having a good day!
Digging the hue structure and how you tied the contrast on the fence posts to the contrast in the trees. The grainy texture works. Looks like you were able to smooth out the primary figures to distinguish (but not disconnect them) from the ground. Serendipity?
Thank you so much! 🙂 I am sure there is a lot of serendipity here, because I generally just do stuff that I hope will work out in the end. And I’m really glad you like it 😀
There is a little 3D effect at the two large trees, that’s nice.
Thank you, Andre 🙂 I like how they turned out🙂
This would be considered rough and it looks lovely.
Hot press ironed smooth
Cold press medium texture
Rough this is where the fun begins
Congratulations on your discovery
Thank you, Lisa 🙂 A fun discovery it is🙂
I agree! It reminds me of hot pressed watercolor paper in a way. It looks great!
Thank you 🙂 I really like the look now😀
