A San Francisco Sketch

This is a sketch inspired by a photo we took in San Francisco back in 2014, which looks like this:

I tried to pick out some of the buildings for the sketch, and do my own take on it.

The pen version ended up like this:

I then added some watercolour to the mix, which made the final result end up like this:

A fun session, with a result I’m quite pleased with 🙂

  1. Nicely done. Crisp and clean. Add a sentiment and it would make a grand greeting card. 👍

    1. Thank you, Mike 🙂 That’s very nice of you. It is definitely missing something, as I was focusing mainly on the buildings. I’ll have to take a step back next time, and try to add something extra to the mix 🙂

      1. I think I’ll add it to my own to-do list as well. It’s a very long list so possibly for some time in the next decade 😉

I was in San Francisco during Fleet Week and whilst taking out my camera for a photo of Lombard Street the Blue Angels flew over in close formation. If I’d been 2 mins quicker I’d have got a great shot, I think all I got was their smoke 😆

      2. I know the feeling 😉

That probably would be a great shot. I didn’t know about Fleet Week, but (after another googling) it looks like quite the show ☺

  2. WOW! I love the watercolor effect. You did an awesome job. I love your signature, too; very unique. I love everything about your art. Never stop creating! 😉😎😊

    1. Thank you so much, Sandi 😊 That’s really kind of you ☺ I’ve never gotten a compliment about my signature before, but I must admit I’m quite happy with it ☺ Hope you’re having a great day and are staying healthy ☺
