I really want to improve in my watercolour painting, but lately it’s been such a struggle.
Everything I make at the moment just looks worse than the stuff I’ve made earlier, and the colours look a lot less natural.
I guess it has something to do with me using tutorial videos earlier, and now trying to break away from them.
Anyway, I guess the only answer is to keep at it, so this is a painting of a farm in a field.
It’s not great, but it’s not that bad either.
It’s ok, and a step on the way in making my watercolouring a bit better.

Please don’t put yourself down. The painting really did come out well. Usually, the struggle with watercolors is overpainting and ending up with muddy colors. That didn’t happen to you, so be proud of that.
Thank you, Laureen! That’s true. The colours are not that bad 🙂 I do put my work down quite a bit, but it never kills my motivation to keep on going. I just expect every painting to end up a lot better than they do… 😉
Keep it going…you are getting there. It is a delightful painting.
Thank you 🙂 I certainly will! 🙂
I like this painting too 🙂👍
Thank you, Adam 🙂 I appreciate the kind words 🙂
‘keep at it’ – that IS the main takeaway here. For what it’s worth I think the lighting on the barn is a good job.
Thanks, Steve 🙂 I’m very determined to get better on my watercolouring, so I’ll certainly do that. And I appreciate your positive view of the barn 🙂
Your painting us beautiful and has a lot of spirit.
Thank you, Michele 🙂 I’m not where I want to be yet, but all paintings are a step on the road. I’m glad you like it 🙂
