Another tutorial painting by Tim Wilmot.
And this was a fun one, since I’ve never painted a countryside scene using watercolour.
I was excited about painting some trees, grass and bushes agan, and really get to use some of those yellow and greens.
So I started with this sketch:

I forgot to take a photo of the first wash, but this is the final result after the second layer:

I’m very pleased with how it turned out, both with the proportions and the perspectives.
I think the leafs on the tree turned out really nice, and the road looks good with a little curve on the end.
The grass on the left side got a bit dark, though. And the hay bales should have had some stronger contrasts to pop out.
But all in all it was a fun and rewarding session 🙂
Now, on to the next!
Love the foliage!
Thanks! It was nice to use some greens again 😀
Well done!
Thank you, Kendall ☺
Kim 😳 this is absolutely brilliant, well done 👍
Thank you so much, Elaine 🙂 This was a fun one. Hope your recovery is going well 🙂
You’re welcome, my recovery is going well thank you 😊
Well Done! I agree with you the proportions and perspective turned out very well. I also like the gray tones of the trees in the background.
Thank you, Michael 🙂 I’ve done a few landscape paintings using oils, but never with watercolour. It was a fun experience 🙂
Terrific
Thank you, Anne 😀
