I recently bought a book about watercolour painting by Jean Haines called «Jean Haynes’ World of watercolour.
Anyway, in the opening chapter I saw this really cool abstract painting of a man in a suit or jacket. Painted with no clear face or clothing.
I got really inspired by it, and had a go at it myself. I used watercolour pencils and a pallette knife to try and scrape some of the paint on. This is how it looked:
It got nowhere near as good as in the book, but I think it ended up OK seeing that it was my first try.
